MULTI-PLATINUM RECORDING STAR DEBBIE GIBSON TO MAKE HER BROADWAY DEBUT IN LES MISERABLES BEGINNING JANUARY 7 AT THE IMPERIAL THEATER

October 30, 1991- International recording star Debbie Gibson will make her Broadway debut as 'Eponine' in the Cameron Mackintosh production of Les Misérables beginning January 7 at the Imperial Theater (249 West 45th Street). Ms. Gibson, who will perform in Les Misérables in New York through March 29, is also currently in negotiation to play the role in the London production of Les Misérables following her Broadway engagement.

An Atlantic Records artist, Debbie Gibson, now 21, entered the music scene in 1987 with her multi-platinum debut album, OUT OF THE BLUE . The album yielded a staggering four Top Five singles for the first-time artist, including the #1 smash, "Foolish Beat." With that accomplishment, Ms. Gibson became the youngest artist in history to have written, produced, and performed a #1 single. Her second album, ELECTRIC YOUTH, was released in 1989 and quickly jumped to the top of the charts, becoming her first #1 album. The album also yielded two more gold-selling singles, including "Lost In Your Eyes," which also reached #1 on the charts. Ms. Gibson's latest album, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, has gone gold. Ms. Gibson has toured internationally in conjunction with all three of her albums. She has also released a string of best-selling home videos: OUT OF THE BLUE, LIVE -- IN CONCERT -- THE OUT OF THE BLUE TOUR, and LIVE AROUND THE WORLD.
