ANNOUNCING THE RETURN OF THE ORIGINAL BROADWAY WINTER SALE
For the fourth consecutive year, producer Cameron Mackintosh will hold a Winter Sale for the hit musicals Miss Saigon and Les MisŽrables. The 15-day only sale, which will begin Sunday, November 16, offers the public orchestra and front mezzanine seats for only $30 (a savings of $45 per ticket) for Monday through Thursday performances from January 6 through March 5 only. Rear mezzanine seats will be on sale for only $20 and $10.
Mackintosh's Winter Sale has been an overwhelming success with the public since its inception in November, 1994. In its three years, a total of 192,836 tickets have been sold (for a total gross of $5,644,614) resulting in both Les MisŽrables and Miss Saigon being sold out at most performances during the typically slow months of January and February. In fact, the winter sale concept has been so popular with the general public that many other Broadway shows have since followed suit.
This year's sale details: Beginning Sunday, November 16 at at 10:00 a.m. and continuing through Sunday, November 30 at 11:59 p.m., every seat for Monday through Thursday performances of Les MisŽrables and Miss Saigon between January 5, 1998 and March 5, 1998 will be put on sale at the following prices: all orchestra and front mezzanine seats priced at $30 (normally $75) and all rear mezzanine seats at $20 and $10. The sale applies to every seat, including prime orchestra locations. In other words, a consumer who acts quickly can get a prime orchestra seat, 5th row center for only $30 -- a 60% savings.
The Winter Sale applies to the following dates in 1998: Jan. 5-8, 12-15, 20-22, 26-29; Feb. 2-5, 9-12, 17-19, 23-26; March 2-5. Please note Les MisŽrables does not play Monday evenings. No weekend performances are available for either show. All tickets will be sold on a first come, first-served basis, subject to ticket inventory.
During the sale, tickets will be available through all regular outlets, including Telecharge and the theater box-offices: Les MisŽrables at the Imperial (249 West 45th) and Miss Saigon at the Broadway (B'way at 53rd).
