PAIGE O'HARA, BELLE IN DISNEY'S OSCAR AWARD-WINNING BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, JOINS THE BROADWAY CAST OF LES MISÉRABLES AS 'FANTINE' ON TUESDAY, MARCH 28

March 17, 1995- Paige O'Hara, the voice of Belle in the Oscar Award-winning Disney classic Beauty and the Beast, will join the Broadway production of Cameron Mackintosh's Les Misérables on Tuesday, March 28 as the selfless 'Fantine.' Ms. O'Hara will replace Catherine Hickland, who will continue her role on ABC-TV's daytime drama, "Loving."

Although best known for her performance as the animated heroine, Belle, in the Disney film classic, Beauty an the Beast, Paige O'Hara is a vetern of the theater. Her Broadway roles include Ellie in Show Boat with Donald O'Connor and The Mystery of Edwin Drood with George Rose, as well as on national tour. Ms. O'Hara's other touring and regional productions include Oklahoma!, And The World Goes Round with Kander and Ebb, the title role in Evita, Paint Your Wagon opposite Jose Ferrer, Anything Goes, Sound of Music and Chess. She recently starred as Nellie in the Australian production of South Pacific. Ms. O'Hara is also a featured vocalist on several Grammy-nominated albums, she has just completed her first solo album "Loving You: Paige O'Hara Sings Jerry Herman" for Varese Sarabande Records.
