ALEXIS KALEHOFF, DAUGHTER OF ANDREA McARDLE, MAKES HER BROADWAY DEBUT

August 13, 1996- On Monday, August 19, Alexis Kalehoff will make her Broadway debut in Cameron Mackintosh's Les Misérables, and as Andrea McArdle's daughter, she continues a family tradition of Broadway babies.

Alexis will play the role of 'Young Cosette', singing the wistful "Castle on a Cloud." While Cosette is in the care of the Thenardiers, her mother, 'Fantine,' sends everything she can, and eventually gives her life for her daughter. Andrea McArdle has previously portrayed 'Fantine,' marking the first time a real life mother and daughter have played the respective roles in Les Misérables.

Alexis, whose father is composer Ed Kalehoff, was previously seen in a regional production of Annie Get Your Gun. She can be heard on "Andrea McArdle on Broadway," and will be seen in the PBS special of the making of that album in November. When asked if her dream would be to appear in Annie, like her mother, Alexis says, instead, that her dream is to play 'Little Cosette.'

Les Misérables is celebrating its 10th Anniversary season on Broadway. Internationally, there have been 29 productions of the musical, in 23 countries, in 14 languages. Worldwide, Les Misérables has been seen by over 40 million people for a box office gross exceeding $1.6 billion.
