August 1, 1994-Cameron Mackintosh's Les Misérables, the international musical phenomenon created by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, has now been seen by over 35 million worldwide. The show reached that milestone on July 31. LES MIZ has been performed in 22 countries, spanning the globe: Great Britain, United States, Japan, Israel, Hungary, Australia, Iceland, Norway, Austria, Canada, Poland, Sweden, Holland, Denmark, New Zealand, France, Czechoslovakia, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, Phillipines, and Singapore. The show has been performed in 14 different languages: English, Japanese, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Norwegian, German, Polish, Swedish, Dutch, Danish, French, Czech, Castillian.
Over 18,000 performances of LES MIZ have taken place throughout the world since the first performance at The Royal Shakespeare Company's Barbican Theatre in London in 1985. Les Miz has been performed in more than 140 cities worldwide. The worldwide gross for the show is in excess of $1 billion. There have been 26 cast recordings of LES MIZ, and the show has received 32 major theatre awards, including the Tony Award for Best Musical.

Thenardier) and Drew Eshelman (Thenardier).
