CAMERON MACKINTOSH'S LES MISÉRABLES SURPASSES 42nd STREET TO BECOME THE 4TH LONGEST RUNNING SHOW IN BROADWAY HISTORY WEDNESDAY MATINEE, SEPTEMBER 13TH

September 5, 1995- Cameron Mackintosh's production of the Alain Boublil/Claude-Michel Schonberg musical, Les Misérables, will become the 4th longest running show in the history of Broadway, surpassing 42nd Street, with its 3,487th performance at the Wednesday matinee, September 13, 1995. As of this date, Les Misérables has been seen by over 5.2 million people on Broadway alone, for a total gross of $243 million.

Les Misérables, which opened on Broadway March 12, 1987, currently features Frederick C. Inkley as Jean Valjean, David Masenheimer as Javert, Jacquelyn Piro as Fantine, Jessica-Snow Wilson as Eponine, Tamra Hayden as Cosette, Tom Donoghue as Marius, Drew Eshelman as Thenardier and Gina Ferrall as Madame Thenardier.
