FRED INKLEY RETURNS AS JEAN VALJEAN IN LES MISÉRABLES BEGINNING TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th

FRED INKLEY will return to the role of Jean Valjean in the Broadway production of Les Misérables beginning Tuesday evening, September 8th at the Imperial Theater (249 West 45th Street). An acclaimed Valjean with both the Broadway and American National Companies, Mr. Inkley's long affiliation with the show began in 1993 when he joined the National Tour. He was with the tour for two years, and in 1995 was invited to join the Broadway company.

After making his Broadway debut in Les Misérables, he originated the role of The Beast in the First National Company of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, a role he played to great acclaim until earlier this year. His extensive list of credits also includes The Leading Player in Pippin, Berger in Hair, Mike in A Chorus Line, Charlie in Brigadoon, Older Patrick in Mame with the late Juliet Prowse, Peter in Jesus Christ Superstar and Treat in Lyle Kessler's drama Orphans.

Mr. Inkley joins Les Misérables the same evening that Tony Award nominee Alice Ripley assumes the role of Fantine. In addition to Mr. Inkley and Ms. Ripley, the cast of Les Misérables also includes Robert Gallagher as Javert, Megan Lawrence as Eponine, Peter Lockyer as Marius, Nick Wyman as Thénardier, Fuschia Walker as Madame Thénardier and Stephen R. Buntrock as Enjolras.

The performance schedule for Les Misérables at the Imperial Theatre is Tuesday-Saturday evenings at 8:00 PM, with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00 PM and Sunday at 3:00 PM. For tickets ($15-$75) and information call Tele-charge at (212) 239-6200.
