CELEBRATE NATIONAL ‘SING YOUR DAY’ WITH LES MISÉRABLES ON BLU-RAY & DVD

Celebrate the musical phenomenon of LES MISÉRABLES with National ‘Sing Your Day’ on 13 May 2013 as the box-office sensation comes to Blu-ray and DVD. National ‘Sing Your Day’ offers fans the chance to celebrate songs from the film and provides the opportunity to participate in creating a new world record for the ‘First Official Mass Participation Performance of a Song from Les Misérables’ which will be submitted to Guinness World Records after the event. Fans are invited to stop what they’re doing, wherever they are, at 1pm on 13 May 2013 to be a part of this exciting national musical initiative!

The day offers fans three ways to get involved;

• Taking part in an official flash mob performance in London
• Participating in one of several flash mobs taking place across the country
• ‘Singing Your Day’

However you choose to get involved you can share your singing efforts across the official social media platforms for LES MISÉRABLES (www.facebook.com/LesMisMovie).

1. Taking Part in an Official Flash Mob Performance in London
Musical groups and fans from around the UK are invited to London on 13 May to take part in a spectacular rendition of ‘Do You Hear the People Sing?’ at St Pancras train station at 1pm (participants will need to arrive by 12.45pm). Confirmed attendees will also be entered into a prize draw to win some amazing LES MISÉRABLES goody bags. To take part, attendees must join the ‘London flash mob performance’ event on the official LES MISÉRABLES Facebook page (www.facebook.com/LesMisMovie).

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for LES MISÉRABLES fans to sing alongside top selling classical artist Laura Wright (http://laura-wright.co.uk/) who will be leading the flash mob. Laura is an ambassador for the charity Nordoff Robbins (www.nordoff-robbins.org.uk/), a music charity dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults. Those participating in the flash mob will have the opportunity to support Nordoff Robbins by texting to donate. West End stars including Rhiannon Porter (Jesus Christ Superstar) and Christopher J. Orton (Spamalot) are also warming up their voices in preparation to participate.

2. Participating in One Of Several Flash Mobs Across the Country
Those living outside the London area who are keen to do something big to celebrate the Blu-ray and DVD release of LES MISÉRABLES on 13 May are encouraged to set up and film their own flash mob performing their favourite song from LES MISÉRABLES in their local area. Don’t miss the opportunity meet up with other fans and make LES MISÉRABLES your own!

There is even the opportunity to message the official LES MISÉRABLES Facebook page (www.facebook.com/LesMiserablesMovieUK) and request a post to recruit new participants. Flash mobs are already confirmed to take place in the Cardiff, Bristol, Newport and Manchester areas.

No matter how large or small the group is, send a link of the performance video to the official Les Misérables Facebook page or tweet a link using #singyourday or #LesMis and it will be shared across a network of hundreds of thousands!

3. Singing Your Day
National ‘Sing Your Day’ is also a fun and creative opportunity for fans to film or photograph themselves singing at any particular time in their day, in an effort to make even the most mundane daily tasks more musical!

National ‘Sing Your Day’ allows fans to experience their day in true LES MISÉRABLES style and showcase their efforts via twitter or Facebook. All fans need to do is upload the video or photo to their Facebook page and tag the official Facebook page (LesMiserablesMovieUK) or tweet a link using #singyourday or #LesMis.
