Tam trained at The Guildford Conservatoire of Acting with a (1st) BA Hons degree.
Most recently he received great critical acclaim for his portrayal of Anatoly in Michael Harrison’s production of Chess, at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto directed by Craig Revel Horwood.
Prior to this, Tam was the Alternate Phantom in the original cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical Love Never Dies at London’s Adelphi Theatre directed by Jack O’Brien.
Tam’s theatrical experience also includes work with The National Theatre, The Royal Court and The Royal Shakespeare Company.
His work as a member of The National Theatre Company includes Longaville in Loves Labours Lost, the original cast of Anything Goes, South Pacific, and The Royal Hunt of the Sun all directed by Trevor Nunn. He appeared in Orange Peel at the Royal Court written and directed by Maya Pelevic and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company for a season where his work included Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet directed by Peter Gill and Edmund in King Lear directed by Bill Alexander.
Other leading roles include- Dinos Chapman in Dr Faustus for the Headlong Theatre Company directed by Rupert Goold and Steve Marmion, and Mike in a production of East at The Leicester Haymarket Theatre directed by Paul Kerryson.
Other Professional theatre credits include, As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet and Oh What a Lovely War for Regents Park Open Air Theatre, and Les Miserables at The Palace Theatre, London.
Television and Film credits include: Waking the Dead, Holby City, Doctors, Footballers Wives, and The Butchers Shop.
Radio credits include: BBC ‘Friday Night is Music Night’, ‘Masked Heroes’ alongside Sierra Boggess and ‘A celebration of the Western’ alongside Hayley Westenra. Tam is delighted to be returning to Les Miserables.
