Kate has an extensive career as a choreographer, working nationally and internationally in contemporary dance, ballet, film, opera, theatre and musicals including the original musical staging for Les Misérables at the RSC, worldwide and here at Queens theatre.
Theatre credits include: Moonfleet (Salisbury), Roots (Donmar), Three Sisters, Dream Play, Albert Speer, Power and Ends of the Earth (NT) and ’Tis Pity She’s a Whore, Dr Faustus, Skellig and The Skin of Our Teeth (Young Vic), Fiddler on the Roof (Sheffield, West End), Hamlet (Old Vic) and The Kreutzer Sonata (Gate). Her devised dance theatre works include: Soul Play, Songs from a Hotel Bedroom based on Kurt Weill’s American songs, and The Ballroom of Joys and Sorrows.
Opera includes: Don Giovanni (Welsh National Opera), Le Nozze di Figaro (Garsington Opera), Turandot (Royal Opera), works at Glyndebourne, in Valencia and Washington; Gloriana, Peter Grimes, Verdi’s Requiem and The Carmelites with Phyllida Lloyd at Opera North and English National Opera.
Film includes: Chaplin, Restoration and The Avengers.
Television includes: Co-devising/choreographing The Dancing Room which was shown on BBC2.
Kate is a Churchill Fellow, and holds a Rayne Foundation Choreographic Fellowship. She teaches choreography at the Royal Ballet School and works as a mentor to emerging choreographers and movement directors.
